TOUR BRITANNIA
Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 7th, 8th & 9th September
Quinton marshals and officials have been closely involved in the running of Tour Britannia, the UK’s premier race tour, since its inception six years ago. Again this year, a number of our members will be involved in the organisation and running of the event at a senior level, which takes place between the 7th and 9th of September. Peter Fieldhouse is the Tour’s Chief Marshal and Event Co-ordinator and has specifically invited the Club to run the Arbury Hall stage on the afternoon of Thursday, 9th September. Radios and in-stage marshals are needed and anyone wanting to be involved in this unique event and available for that afternoon should contact Neil Cross, who is the Stage Commander, on 07767 773862 or by email on trec1.nec@sky.com

The base of the event this year is in Chester with the focus on Cheshire and North Wales with the finish in Leicestershire. Planning for the event is going well and some 60 entries have already been received - with quality as good as ever. All the circuit and speed venues have now been confirmed and competitors are being offered a Tour that will certainly be up to the quality experienced in previous years.

Covering an area from Northamptonshire to Aintree and Anglesey, with probably a record entry, the Tour obviously requires even more marshals than in previous years - and therefore Peter will be particularly delighted to receive offers of help from any Quinton marshals who are available during the week. The form on which to register as an Additional Marshal for this year's Tour is available on the website – www.tourbritannia.com – and this lists all the speed venues that are being run this year. Alternatively contact Peter by telephone on 01386 49014 to discuss arrangements to join the team for this highlight of the year for those with a bent for classic cars racing and rallying.
