CLUB HEADLINES & INFORMATION
WE NEED YOUR HELP
We are in the early stages of reviving the Quinton Novice Road Rally which we know has not been run for over 20 years. The route is well advanced and the start venue has been confirmed
For this to be a success we now urgently need volunteer crews to come and help us with PR work. We know this means giving up free time on weekends but without YOUR HELP!! we cannot run the event and all the hard work we have put in will have been for nothing. This will be a fantastic event so come and support us in getting the road rally back up and running again.
The proposed date for the Road Rally is 22nd / 23rd October. Please contact either myself or Mike on the details below.
Adrian Hardy – Mobile: 07960 876 315 – adrianhardy@blueyonder.co.uk
Mike Hawthorn – Mobile: 07796 787 531 – mfh50@yahoo.co.uk
Adrian & Mike have confirmed that the route is just about finalised with the Start / Finish in Shrewsbury. The proposed route will be 110 miles long and the entry fee should be £65. There is a 24hr Service Station nearby and it is hoped that food may also be available.

It’s Wales Rally GB again
Day 1 – Thursday November 11th / Friday November 12th
The WRGB starts on Thursday evening with a run through the new Cardiff Bay superspecial, before the cars head into parc ferme overnight.
Friday’s run of six stages is identical to last year, with two runs through Hafren, Sweet Lamb and Myherin separated by a remote service in Builth Wells
Day 2 – Saturday November 13th
It is Saturday where most of the changes can be found. The Revived Radnor and new Monument Hill stages will be run first with the mixed-surface test of Four Ways. Crychan then following, before a run through the forest of Halfway. The field will then return to Builth Wells for a second remote service before running the same four stages again.
After exiting Halfway for the second time, crews will then head back to Cardiff Bay for another night-time run through the superspecial.
Day 3 – Sunday November 14th
The Port Talbot and Rheola stages run last year have been abandoned in favour of moving Resolfen from Saturday to Sunday and a revamped Margam Park run twice each.
The Margam finale has been shortened to eight kilometres (five miles), cutting out some of the forest section but leaving the iconic finish in the park itself.

Pete Cotton has been welcomed onto the Committee and has taken on the position of Social Secretary. When he has his feet firmly under the table, he hopes to organise a number of Scatters and Treasure Hunts.
Any competitors who use head and neck safety devices are being urged to check their equipment to ensure the homologation stickers are in place. If they are not, you may not pass through scrutineering.
Nicky Grist, whose NG Motorsport firm imports Stand 21 HANS devices into the UK, said “There is a certain batch of devices that had the sticker put in a vulnerable place and as a result it keeps falling off. We have highlighted the problem with the manufacturer and ask people who have concerns to get in touch”.
Nicky can be contacted on 01981 241 040
Number 201 will be left vacant on the Quinton Stages Rally as a mark of respect to Martyn Lewis who lost his life in an accident on the Dukeries Rally. Martyn would have carried this number after winning the QSR last year.
Details have been released regarding the Quinton Stages Rally. It is now confirmed that the QSR will be using the WRGB stage of Halfway and Route 60 combined, joining the two stages at Dixies as SS1. It is suspected that many of the top entries will be comparing their stage time with that of WRGB competitors.
The route will be SS1 Dixies, SS2 Crychan, SS3 Monument, SS4 Halfway, SS5 Route 60, SS6 Crychan, SS7 Monument.
